Sheffield Carnival 2018
Sheffield Carnival made a stand-alone comeback at Norfolk Heritage Park last weekend and it was one of the best if not the best Sheffield event seen by the thousands of people that attended. The free family-friendly inclusive event that featured in last years Sheffield Fayre was created with the help of hundreds of cross-generational volunteers and participants from children to pensioners.
The event included African dancing and African drumming workshops, Indian dancing workshops fairground rides, an activity tent, live music, stalls, a range of food and culminated in a vibrant costume parade.
Sheffield Lord Mayor Magid Magid, dressed as the Carnival King said: “It has been one of the best experiences ever, I have done many things in my five weeks as being Lord Mayor and I can honestly say this has definitely topped it. I really hope many of you come back next year because as you really can see Sheffield Carnival is well and truly alive.”
